Praise the Lord!
Hello and Happy New Year!

Time has flown by and I have not posted for along time.
I have been busy taking care of my family and most importantly
trying to take a closer look at my walk with Jesus.

I miss painting and I have plans to get back painting here soon.
I am just trying to ask God first what he wants from me.  Letting him take the
lead in my life and direct my path.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
                                                   -Proverbs 3:5&6

My husband and I are taking part in a class at our church (River of Life) here in Wellington.  The class is named  "21 Days of Prayer".  We meet every night at the church for an hour for 21 days.  About 25 people. We will be on day 9 tomorrow.  What a blessing this class is!  Really getting down to the core of prayer.  Everything about prayer.  The how, when, what, why and discovering the amazing power of prayer.  We have been very moved by the class so far and can feel God moving in our family already.  God is good!  Amen?

So, I will keep you posted and I will share with you more later.  And I will post a painting
soon, God willing.  Like the title of my blog:  A Grateful Journey...
I believe that God IS the most important part of mine and everyone's journey.  He should be leading all of our vessels.  Bless our Father for his constant forgiveness and love for us.
Can I get a Hallelujah!!

Peace and love to all of you.

I just thought I would share a little of what I have been squeezing into my days.
This is me at around 4 months old or so.  My Aunt Joyce holding me and
my Grandma Iva in the background (making sure she is holding me right).

I have been going through and scanning slides that my parents have taken over the years.
I have been working on this for a  few days now.  I am only 1/8th of my way through all of them.
My dad has slides back to
the fifties.  Notice the next one...

This one is one of my favorites so far.  This is my Mom and Dad around 1958 or so.
I think it is taken at Lake Michigan.  What a cool photo eh?!
Love this one!!
Two little love birds.  They have been married for 56 years!  Nice job Mom and Dad!

How about this beauty!  I think this is about 1961 or so.
Hawaii.  Fun stuff!

God is amazing and wonderful!  Amen!
This year has been such a huge year for me and my spiritual growth.  Becoming closer to Jesus and my walk with him.  It is so incredible!  It has always been my desire to have a deeper understanding of The Word of God.  I feel this year that I am finally starting that profound journey.  It is so wonderful and I am grateful to so many.
Number one, to God for giving me life.  And to Jesus for dying on the cross for our sins, and being such a loving, caring , forgiving Lord.

I am thankful for my parents for all that they have done for me.  They brought me up in a Godly home.
I know they will be reading this, so thank you M & D for always putting God first and then your family.  Thank you Mom for all those thankless meals you fixed us.  And all the thousands of piles of laundry you selflessly washed, and all the unconditional love that was shown.  Thank you Dad for taking care of us and for all the long hours driving us to horse shows and attending all our school sport functions.  Thank you for all of your love and guidance.  Parenting can be a thankless job, but so rewarding.  We are serving God when we serve our families.  Thank you for being such great role models in that field.  I love you both dearly.

Jesus said:
"I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me."

Autumn is falling upon us.
Wow!  October already?!  Where did September go?
Fabulous fall!  I love fall.  Cooler temps, beautiful trees turning colors, did I say cooler temps?  YEA!  I know, I know, the fall colors are not as spectacular as out in Eastern USA, and other parts of the
world, but we will take it.  If I saw the fall colors in the deciduous parts of the world, I would probably explode!  Such beautiful artwork of our Father up in heaven.  Amen?

This was a painting that I did a couple of years ago and have had it in my private collection.  I just love to admire the leaves this time of the year.
I am like a little kid walking around saving all the turned leaves.  I want to save and press all of them.  Boy, what would I do with all of them?  I already have a quite a collection from over the years.

Hope you all are enjoying Autumn in your neck of the woods!  And collecting some beauties!

I am back!
What a long time between my last blog.  It is nice to be back in the studio.  My youngest just stated pre-k yesterday, and the other two are getting settled with the new school year.  Getting ready for school is a full-time job.  Holy cow!  Getting new clothes picked out, shoes, school supplies!  Tons of school supplies!  Anyway, I am happy to say that all this is done and I can take a few hours a day now for my other creative side.

I LOVE, LOVE seahorses!  And I have been wanting to paint one.  They are so enchanting and fascinating!
Here is a little trivia for you.  Did you know that the male seahorse carries the babies?   Cool huh!  They are the only animal in the whole animal kingdom that does so.  They don't have teeth or stomachs.  Their digestion process is so quick they  need to constantly eat to survive.  They can eat 3000-4000 brine shrimp in one day!
Seahorses mate for life, and  usually under a full moon, and utter musical sounds while mating.  Wow, those male seahorses and awesome.  They carry the babies and they are romantic!

It has been awhile since my last blog.  Just trying to enjoy my kids over summer break and there is not a whole lot of time to paint.  But, I am back in the studio excited to paint!  Feels good!

My Paypal button was not working.  Thanks to my dear friend, Lauie Pace, she detected the problem and helped me fix it...yea!!  Thank you Laurie.  So, it is now working like it should and all is well.

I am doing a series of abstract birds.  This is the second  in the series.  The first has been sold.

Ravens are one of the smartest birds there is.  Apparently, creative scientists are always coming up with ways to challenge their problem solving skills.  Our ravens here in Colorado are quite huge.   Cool birds, they are.

Happy hot days!

Happy Independence Day!!

This is a new painting that was really fun to paint.  And what is really cool about it that you can turn it in all four directions and get a different perspective of the bird flying.

And I learned a new word when I named this painting.

autonomous -functioning  independently without control of others.

God bless the USA and all God's people.
